Grenfell United was formed by a team of survivors and mourners in the days following the fire. The organization works to provide priestly care for the victims and to support the family in ensuring that such tragic events do not recur.

The agency previously conducted memorial services outside the Tower site in 2018 and 2019, and during the epidemic it facilitated separate visits to the site to give flowers to mourners and survivors and to take the time to pay their respects.

Before the memorial, the couple met those who had lost loved ones as well as survivors of the deadly fire.
